Richards metal thermocouple protection tubes are manufactured using our special
processes to maximize the tube service life. This is evident by our uniquely
shaped, heavy mass tips, which have been proven in the field for years. Prior
to shipment, each tube goes thru our Hydro pneumatic testing to check for
porosity and structural integrity. Metal protection tubes are typically made
with closed hot end and a threaded cold end, but they can be made with open
or partially open ends and various threading configurations.
We stock all high temperature and corrosion resistant alloys in a variety
of pipe sizes and schedules to insure quick delivery. We purchase our pipe
in mill shipments and pass the savings on to our customers. Some of the more
common listed materials are shown on this page but we can manufacture protection
tubes from any material required.

Number Key |
- The first numbers) in the part number below refers to the element
wire gauge.
|
- The first letter refers to the Thermocouple Type (E, J, K, N, or
T).
|
- The"4" designates straight assembly.
|
- The next grouping is the Protection Tube alloy and pipe size.
|
- Add "WH" for a Weatherproof Head: Aluminum = AWH Cast
Iron = CIH Many others are available.
|
- For the " * " insert length, multiples of 6 inches (152.4
mm) are standard, others are also available.
