Bantam Thermocouples with Plug - Miniature

 Standard elements are made from fiberglass epoxy impregnated insulated thermocouple wire (special construction
elements available on request). Generally Miniature thermocouples are less expensive than Swaged (MgO) thermocouples.

General use to 700ºC (1300ºF) depending on type, wire gauge, and insulation on the wire. Limited use to higher
temperatures. More easily flexed than Swaged thermocouples.

The element or the protection tube is readily replaceable. Assemblies are normally supplied with standard round solid
pin Plugs and Jacks on large diameter tubes, and Subminiature flat pin plugs and Jacks on small diameter assemblies.

Jab style Jacks and floating junction are standard ( a "floating" junction (F) means the element may or may not
be grounded or ungrounded). Grounded junctions (G) and Ungrounded (U) are available as well as Floating junctions.
Insert in the part number "G" or "U". 

Compression Fittings (CF) (optional) can be used for firm mounting . Add "CF" to part number. 1/8" NPT adjustable
threaded Compression Fitting  is standard on 1/8" and 3/16" O. D. tubes, and 1/4" NPT is standard on 1/4" O. D. tubes.

For Dual elements insert "D" after "4" in part number. Example: 18K4DM

Consult factory for other available sheaths, and for Type N elements.

Used where a 1/2" x 1/2" NPT  hexagonal fitting is desirable for mounting to furnace and head (or other fitting).

 Types E, J, K, T - Flexible Extension (FE)

Armored Cable may be used as a Flexible Extension (FE) on tubes. State (miniature) assembly using length
of immersion probe ("U") plus FE and length of Flexible Extension ("Z"). Grounded Junction (G) is standard.

Example: 20K4-9M3-K1-12-FE6, a thermocouple with a 12 inch probe length and a Flexible Extension 6 inches long.

Bantam Thermocouples with Standard Plug & Bayonet Fitting - Miniature

Types E, J, K, T - Standard Plug and Bayonet Fitting (BF)

General use to 700ºC (1300ºF) depending on type, wire gauge, and insulation on the wire. Limited use to higher
temperatures. More easily flexed than Swaged thermocouples.

The element is normally grounded (G) to the protection tube (standard) and the combination is readily replaceable.
If the element is ungrounded (U) then both the element and the tube is easily replaced. A "floating" junction (F)
means the element may or may not be grounded or ungrounded. 

 Grounded Junctions are standard. This prevents wire from pulling out of tube and gives a quicker response.
May be used are a grounded replacement for Miniature assemblies. Bayonet Fitting (BF) presets depth and allows
quick attachment and removal.

Example: Part Number 20J4P-9M3-J1-12-BF6 signifies a 20 gauge, Type J, Standard Plug, 12 inch probe, Bayonet
Fitting having a 6 inch "U" length.

Y = Metal probe length    U = Length from hot tip end to top of Bayonet Fitting Cap.

Bantam Thermocouples with Jack -Miniature

Types E, J, K, T - Ceramic insulator and Standard Plug

Plugs may be attached to Ceramic insulators by special tube adaptors or by means of a Cable Clamp (CL) where and exposed or recessed junction is required but a plug termination is desired. A 3/16 inch (4.8mm) Alumina insulator is standard but Mullite may also be used.

Examples:
24K8-CL-K1-18 Signifies a Type K thermocouple element in a 3/16 inch (4.8mm) Alumina insulator, Cable Clamp, Plug and 18 inch length.

24K8C-K1-18 Signifies a Type K thermocouple element in a 3/16 inch (4.8mm) Alumina insulator, collar, Plug and 18 inch length.

Thermocouples normally have the Plug on the thermocouple and the Jack on the Extension Wire, however, they may be made either 
way.

Jab Style plug is standard where "3" is indicated in the part number.
Example: RS3 = RS1 + RS5 (see Plug and Jack section for pictures and descriptions). Thermocouples normally have the Plug on the thermocouple and the Jack on the Extension Wire, however, they may be made either way.
